Senior Data Scientist – STATISTICS

My client is a well-established business in London, focusing on the transport industry. They represent one of the biggest transport providers in the city and have a dedicated team of professionals supporting the analytical needs of the business.
They are now opening a new office modern office in Paddington and are looking to grow their insights team.
A Senior Data Scientist that can bring new insights to the business and mentor a small team of bright analysts with strong Statistics backgrounds is needed urgently.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Data Scientist with 2 to 5 years industry experience to progress into a lead role in an outstanding successful business.
The responsibilities will include:

*Support Marketing, Sales, Finance, Commercial and operation team with B2C and B2B data with modelling analysis towards providing actionable insights;
*Act as a primary point of contact for insight and analytics regarding multi-channel performance;
*Work with senior stakeholders to define analysis reporting and insight requirements;
*Develop and implement the analysis dashboard for key stakeholders ensuring clear data on customer segmentation, propensity and value, as well as channel performance, issues and volume using existing tools and systems – R, R-Shiny, Sybase IQ and Excel;
*Resolve issues affecting the delivery of analysis, working across IT Teams;
*Work with agencies, partners and 3rd party suppliers to support customer analysis requirements;
*Recommend best tools and practices to senior management;
*Leverage data science methodology to drive actions with high commercial impact.

In order to be successful, you will need:
*PhD/Masters in Statistics ideally – alternatively Mathematics, Machine Learning, Data Science or similar field;
*2 to 5 years industry experience in a Data Science position;
*Expertise with SQL;
*Proficiency in R – data manipulation, aggregation and Statistical Modelling (mandatory);
*Understanding of data engineering principles;
*Experience with Machine Learning techniques;
Other desirable skills will be:
*Experience in working closely with B2C and B2B environments (not essential);
*Experience in customer segmentation, propensity models and customer analysis;
*Exposure to conversion optimization for multi-channel;
*Proficiency with web analytic tools – google analytics and similar.
