Research Engineer – Data Processing – Graduate level

My client is an established business in Oxford, and with offices in Paddington, London, currently involved in one of biggest projects in Autonomous Vehicles in UK – a team of Research Engineers from different areas that can analyse and build software capable of analyzing data in all formats in the following fields:

*Data & Analytics;
*Cyber Security;
*Simulation;
*Mapping and Visualization;
*Protocols and Standards;
*Smart Cities – Transport.
*

At the moment, I am looking for a Graduate level Research Engineer that can join the team focusing on the data processing across the multiple areas.

The Research Engineer will have a data engineering focus and will be responsible for:

*Obtaining (including possibly procuring) data sets and feeds;
*Accessing, processing, transforming and maintaining large data sets and feeds;
*Building systems in existing IoT platform to support data ingestion;
*Collect insights from the data sets through research and machine learning techniques.

In order to succeed, you will need:

*Strong academia in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning or similar;
*Software engineering skills (preferred);
*Research experience;
*Experience with data processing of large sets;
*Previous experience with machine learning techniques (academia);
*Experience with Java;
*Experience with Python (desirable);
*Some experience Hadoop and Spark would also be beneficial for this position.

This position is based in Oxford and you will be working together with a team of senior Research Engineers – it is a great opportunity to learn from a team of strong Researchers within Autonomous Vehicles.
