Capacity Analyst, with experience in asset and configuration management
We are on the lookout for an ‘Capacity Analyst, with experience in asset and configuration management’ to join one of the UK’s biggest and well-respected companies.
You will be responsible for definition of the Configuration Management System structure and rules governing its population and maintenance, plus the capacity management process & tooling.
You will ensure through sample audits and validation that all configuration items and assets are accurate across the IT portfolio to ensure they help deliver an accurate information of IT services to all other areas of IT and the business.
* Must have extensive experience in capacity management
*define and maintain the underlying structure of the CMDB so that it is able to hold all information on CI’s.
*Ensure the no CI’s are added or modified without the required authorisation and that such modifications are adequately recorded in the CMDB.
*Perform regular checks, ensuring that the information contained in the CMDB is an exact representation of the CIs installed in the live production environment.
*Create and maintain configuration management plans.
*Capture & review defined capacity metrics during BAU operation from the Infrastructure Delivery teams or 3rd party providers and report on an exceptional and ongoing basis to ensure performances are met.
Experience and knowledge:
*Extensive experience working and managing CMBD’s in a supplier managed IT operational environment.
*Experience establishing, developing and implementing configuration management processes and training.
*Experience in Capacity Planning methodologies, tools and processes
*Broad Knowledge of service management and CSI Technologies
*Proficient in Excel
*Able to think in an analytical way
*Experience of controlling assets & how they are configured
