Application Architect – solution design/ development background

An Application Architect is required by a leading organisation, based in Basingstoke where you will play an integral role on a large, reverse engineering programme involving this company’s core legacy applications and implementing replacement strategic application(s) in a best of breed technology (likely to be cloud hosted).

As the Application Architect you will be responsible for the end to end architecture for these applications, both current and strategic. You will work with key stakeholders to create and then own the legacy architecture assets and solution architecture products and define a future strategic application platform to meet business requirements. You will define and manage non-functional requirements (i.e environment, database storage, processing, network, licencing, and security) and monitor design decisions, conduct design assurance activities (incl. perform peer to peer design review, raise design issues and concerns), and ensure alignment with development and delivery standard.

Along with a strong architecture/solution design experience, the Application Architect will also have the following:
– Previous software development experience
– Knowledge of integration patterns and principles used, cloud technologies and migrations (MS Azure).
– Full stack technical design experience (Environment, database, integration, application)
– Good written and verbal communication skills, able to negotiate, influence, inspire and motivate at all levels
